Community Giving

Giving Back: Our Responsibility

Since the days when James Ghilotti started his business, giving back to the communities where you live and work has always been a part of our heritage. Whether it’s a monetary contribution or a combination of goods and/or services, GBI’s philosophy is that giving back to the community is not only an obligation, but also a privilege, as the investment into these groups benefits many in immeasurable ways. GBI can always be counted on to do their part for those in need.

Lone Sailor MemorialIn 1978, Dino and Mario Ghilotti decided to dedicate funds to recognize their brother, Willie, through an annual scholarship in his name. With the passing of Dino in 1991, Mario included his name as part of the scholarship program. Each year, a candidate is selected for their educational pursuits in the construction industry through the scholarship program from Marin Builders Association. Giving of this scholarship assists the recipient with their educational costs and perpetuates the interest the brothers had in the construction industry.

The following list is a partial list of GBI’s in-kind and monetary donations. Besides those listed here, GBI has donated monetarily to over 70 other organizations over the past year.
