Excavating & Grading

GBI has been moving the earth in a big way since our original seven piece equipment purchase in 1951. Since then, "yellow fever" for big iron has been a main stay of our operations for sixty years. Few engineering contractors have experienced the great variety of soil conditions present in the Bay Area – from Franciscan bedrock to Bay mud; adobe clay to sand; wet or dry, GBI has moved millions of cubic yards of material. We have the necessary knowledge, the finest crafts people and an extensive equipment inventory to handle whatever geotechnical conditions are encountered. Our people and equipment operate with the best technology available for the most accurate and efficient work possible. Even after 95 years, we continue to refine our knowledge, exceed standards, and build to the highest criteria.
