Landfills are a necessary component for any city or county to function, and provide a unique setting for construction work. Over the years, GBI has valued its role in the construction, maintenance, and closure of Bay Area landfills.

In the decommissioning of West Contra Costa County and Brisbane Landfills, GBI was subject to exacting tolerances to produce quality of clay caps and final covers. As seen in the maintenance and upgrades of the Redwood Sanitary Landfill and the Meacham Landfill, GBI can steadily perform work without jeopardizing the facilities’ constant flow of business. Complete, new-cell construction is also a GBI specialty, having played a role in two recent expansions totaling in excess of 2 million yards of new airspace at Potrero Hills Landfill!
