Celebrating Over 95 Years of Success

Over 95 years ago, our grandfather left a small town in Northern Italy to pursue “la fortuna,” in America, the land of opportunity. Today, Ghilotti Bros., Inc. (GBI) employs over 275 individuals working in 11 Bay Area Counties and generating annual revenues in excess of $100 million per year.

90 Years of Ghilotti Brothers SuccessAlong the way, GBI has contributed time, money, and resources to several hundred organizations in our community, as well as providing steady income for thousands of families to rely on.

It is with great honor and respect that we lead GBI toward its Centennial. As third generation family members, we are blessed by the hard work and dedication James photo, Mario photo, Dino photo, Willie photo and Babe Ghilotti gave to this company.

Without their extraordinary efforts and tremendous sacrifices, we would not be here today celebrating this unique event. Many employees have become part of the GBI family over the years through their exemplary and lengthy service, as well as their sons, and in some cases grandsons.

It is mind boggling to see the influence GBI has had on the infrastructure of Marin County and the Bay Area. We have been a part of the paving renovation of almost every street in Marin County and the majority in San Francisco. We've completed over 40 projects at SFIA, worth $55 million since we started working there in 1986. We tried to straighten Lombard Street in San Francisco, the "world's crookedest street" in 1995. The re-creation of the tidal wetlands, construction of beach front promenade and establishment of the 100-acre national park area that is now Crissy Field in San Francisco in 2000 is one of our crowning achievements.

Taking the company into the next era is not a responsibility we take lightly. There is so much pride and tradition that comes with being part of the "Ghilotti Family." It is not enough to just work long hours and be dedicated to the company. Long-term success and succession is paramount as owners of this company. So much so, that GBI has implemented a series of strategic planning workshops that has brought together senior management with all levels of James Ghilotti Concrete Stampadministrativepersonnel. These meetings have resulted in a ground-up approach that has incorporated innovative ideas with experience and knowledge to produce truly collaborative long range goals to sustain GBI.

There are truly few things as rewarding as walking with your children to church on a sidewalk that proudly displays their great-grandfather's logo. That duty to preserve the great heritage that James Ghilotti started and Mario and Dino sustained, will be our responsibility as we solidify the future for the next century of Ghilotti Bros., Inc.
